| 7/10/09 ARE GHOSTS HAUNTING MICHIGAN’S TOP TOURIST DESTINATION? Mackinac Island, known for fudge and history, is fast becoming famous for its numerous ghostly tales. MACKINAC ISLAND, MICHIGAN, July 10, 2009 – Most people visit Mackinac Island for the famous fudge, unique rock formations, and the pure serenity of this jewel in the Great Lakes. Now there is an exciting new, and quite paranormal, reason to pay Mackinac Island a visit this summer; haunted historic tours. With a history dating back thousands of years it only seems natural that there would be a ghost story or two found here. Haunts of Mackinac (Haunted History Tours) claims to have much more than just a couple of ghost stories to tell. In fact, the Downtown tour shares around twenty ghost stories and legends over the course of the 90 minute walking tour. Cloaked tour guides escort “spirited guests” through the streets of Mackinac Island and frequently stop to tell an eerie tale of the island’s many specters and legends, as well as the history behind each location. Haunts of Mackinac is open from through late October. Tickets are $15 for those 13 & up, $13 for those 8 – 12, and free to those 7 and under. Group discounts and private tours are available. Reservations are recommended as group size is limited. For more information and tour times visit www.hauntsofmackinac. com or call 1-888-GHOST-13 (888-446-7813). | 3/21/11 MACKINAC ISLAND FEATURED ON SYFY CHANNEL'S TOP RATED SHOW GHOST HUNTERS! Mackinac Island, MI – March 21, 2011 – Syfy Channel’s television show, Ghost Hunters, joins Todd Clements, of Haunts of Mackinac Tours, to film one of the most unique episode in the show’s 7 season history. The episode, “Frozen In Fear”, is the first time Ghost Hunters filmed an investigation in Michigan. The television program Ghost Hunters, follows The Atlantic Paranormal Society (T.A.P.S.) as they investigate locations around the world for answers to the unexplained. This is the 7th season for the show, which continues to be the highest rated program on the Syfy Channel. The T.A.P.S. team was invited to Mission Point Resort on Mackinac Island to get to the bottom of the numerous ghost stories surrounding the location. The investigation took two full nights and included 7 members of the T. A.P.S. team, numerous crew members and the shows newest member, an Australian Sheppard, named Maddie. Filmed in January during difficult winter weather conditions on Mackinac Island, the cast and crew had to use boats, snowmobiles, airplanes, and of course horse and carriage to get around. The real question is did they find any ghosts or could the strange occurrences at Mission Point Resort be explained? Be sure to tune in to the Syfy Channel on March 30th at 9pm (est.) to find out. You can also join Haunts of Mackinac on a tour May through October to learn more about the ghosts that call Mackinac Island home. ### |
